I’m a Sound Technician

Brandon | Tech Stuff | Thursday, March 30th, 2006

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it here, but I run the sound at my church.  I’ve been doing it for about 7 years.  I didn’t know that the ability to do it was worth anything.

We had a guest pastor a few weeks ago, and he told me he’d like to hire me to do sound for him when he was pastoring in the area.  I thought he was just making me feel good about myself, initially.  He called me yesterday afternoon because he was ministering at a church close to mine.  I made sure it was okay with my pastor, and I called Mr. Jones back to find out where to meet him.

I was only there for about two and a half hours, but it was a good job, and I’d like to do it more often.

Kunefke.US meets Gmail

Brandon | Tech Stuff | Monday, March 27th, 2006

I signed up a while ago for beta testing a new service using Gmail with my domain. It is really cool, and was pretty simple to set up. I can set up up to 25 users (email accounts) for free using gmail as the host. They have a kunefke.us address, but it is hosted on Google’s servers.

The really cool thing about this is that there is no procedure to set it up on each individual computer. I just have to give them a link to the sign-in page, and they keep up with the link.

In fact, I’ll give it to you right HERE. If you want an account, shoot me an email by clicking HERE

Lost – Where’s the New Stuff?

Brandon | Entertainment | Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

I know that this seems to be a trend right now, but please give us a few episodes in a row.  We’ve already been threatened with the possibility of not figuring everything out for 5 seasons, but can you at least give us multiple new episodes a few weeks in a row?

Sure, each episode goes through much more production than most one hour shows, but it’s getting old having to wait 2 or 3 weeks at a time for a new episode.  Hopefully you’re just holding back to have a good finish to your second season with the last 6 or 7 weeks without a rerun.  Please let that be the case.

School Work

Brandon | Tech Stuff | Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I created a second blog to use for school.  I know that at some point I will need to use it for communication with my professors or classmates.  School is taking much longer than I anticipated, but I know it’ll be worth it in the long term.

My NAU blog can be found HERE.  I tried to find a theme that looked different, but I just couldn’t break away from my current theme.  Let me know if you find a similar theme in another color, or something with expandable sidebar items.

Spore

Brandon | Entertainment,Tech Stuff | Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

I just came across what will probably be one of the best games to come out this decade. It is being built for the PC, but it is rumored to be designed for the Xbox 360 & Nintendo Revolution as well.

The name of the game is Spore. They originally wanted to call it ‘Sim Everything’, but through the production, “it” wanted to keep it’s code name as the title.

When you begin the game, you start out as a simple spore that lives in a drop of water. Over time, you evolve until you are large enough and have the mental capacity to have a tribe. Your tribe evolves into a civilization. You can then control an entire solar system, making your way to interstellar travel.

One of the neat things about this game is that the creatures you develop are uploaded to the network, so that other users can interact with your species. There is no interaction between users, but the number of species that can be created is immense.

The video is kinda long (35 minutes), but it is very informative about how much fun the game is going to be. It is supposed to be released before the end of this year.

“Hate Bush” Politics

Brandon | Politics | Saturday, March 11th, 2006

I received a message from someone yesterday that had a list of things to “screw” (the word wasn’t really screw, but I don’t even like to use the irst letter o the real word used). For instance, 1. “screw” holidays, 2. “screw” bush, 4. “screw” vinnella icecream, 5. “screw” sports, etc.

The thing that made me mad was #2. One of the things that upset me is that the person didn’t attach their name to it. They felt good for just a few minutes, but didn’t have to account for their comment any further than that.

The problem is much bigger than this, but this hit a nerve that I just didn’t like. There is a “movement” on the liberal side of the aisle that has focused on one major point —> “HATE BUSH!”

Another problem for the liberals is that the imbeciles who think they’re “fighting for a cause” are falling flat on their faces. Their inability to think for themselves and maintain the hype created by the liberals are exhibiting their lack of intelligence involved in what some might call their thought process.

Get off of the “Hate Bush” bandwagon, and deal with the issues. When President Clinton was in office, I didn’t like the fact that he was, but I accepted it, and even accepted the good points of his term. Why can’t any of the liberals out there do the same? They are “supposed” to be the ones who scream for everyone to accept diversity, but they have hate speeches about President Bush that would have gotten conservatives hanged if they had spoken about President Clinton in the same manner.

If you don’t follow politics, we know it. I’ll tell you how. This goes just the same for the people who are serving in politics. If your entire platform is to oppose everything the current President says, we don’t want to hear it, because you are involved in “Hate Bush” politics and we’re tired of hearing your crap.

Which is More Likely?

What is more likely to make you sick for an entire weekend?  Is it a bad fruit smoothie or bad bean dip?

Alarm Clock Followup

Brandon | Stupid Stuff,Uncategorized | Thursday, March 2nd, 2006

I didn’t need my backups…

Apparently during the night I turned the volume of my clock down the night before last.  When I went to check the volume last night, I couldn’t hear it because the volume was all the way down.

I guess it’s a good idea to just carry backup every night.

Alarm Clocks

Brandon | Stupid Stuff | Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

I set my alarm last night for 6:22am this morning.  I don’t remember noticing it go off.  My alarm stays on until you push the button.  The sun woke me up at 7:35am this morning, and I was at work at 7:50am.

I had a long day, no lunch, and am going to bed now.  I feel good about my accomplishments today, so there’s no hard feelings toward the alarm, but I’m bringing in backups tonight for tomorrow morning.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.
